What is Worldwide Moment?
Worldwide Moment is a not-for-profit simultaneous photography event to create international peace, art, and cultural awareness. Everyone is welcome to participate by taking a photograph of their world at the moment of 10.10.10@10:10AM GMT.
Your photographs will help educate the world about culture, race, gender, government, and how possible it is for us to achieve peace.
How can I participate?
When the moment is Sunday at October 10, 2010 at 10:10AM in the Greenwich Mean Time Zone simply take a photograph of your world. Check your time here.
After the Moment occurs, you'll be able to upload your photo, location, and a short story to our website www.WorldwideMoment.org where you can view the results as they're submitted.
To see Worldwide Moment's 2009 exhibit of 1,200 simultaneous photographs from 70 countries visit our Gallery. To pledge to participate in 2010’s Worldwide Moment and receive updates join our mailing list.
Whether amateur or professional, film or digital, Polaroid or camera phone, young or old, this is for EVERYONE. All you have to do is take a photograph at the right Moment.
When is it happening where I live?
Where do I send my photo?
After the Moment has passed you will be able to upload your photo and story to www.worldwidemoment.org.
What happens to the photos?
Everyone's photos and stories will be collected and exhibited online. We also intend to publish a book and create a gallery exhibit of all the photos and stories as well. Join our mailing list for more details on exhibits!
How many photos can I submit?
One photo per camera please.
What is the deadline for submitting photos?
There is no deadline, we just ask that you submit your photo as soon as possible. If you expect a delay please Email us at worldwidemoment@gmail.com.
How can I help?
Tell people. Anyone, everyone. Family, friends. Co-workers, teachers. Amateur photographers, professional photographers. Young people, old people. The next person you see, tell them about Worldwide Moment.
Here are some other ways you can help:
- Donate! You can now make a tax-deductible donation to Worldwide Moment. Our new friends at the non-profit arts service organization Fractured Atlas have decided to serve as a fiscal-sponsor for Worldwide Moment, which means your donations will not only benefit Worldwide Moment's web development, operations and marketing efforts, but your donation is tax deductible. (Worldwide Moment is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization. Contributions in behalf of Worldwide Moment may be made payable to Fractured Atlas and are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.)
- Call or write your local newspaper, magazine, or TV station's entertainment department and link them to our press release link.
- Print and hand out flyers: outside concerts, on car windshields, on campus, inside coffee shops (ask the store owner first), or wherever else you think would be a good idea.
- Visit our Worldwide Moment store. You can order t-shirts, stickers, and other merchandise.
- Think of other creative ways to spread the word and let is know about your idea!

What are you hoping to achieve with this?
We want the photographs from Worldwide Moment to help educate the world about culture, race, gender, government, and how possible it is for us to achieve peace. We also want to raise funds and awareness for international philanthropy, arts, and educational groups.
Why should I be a part of this?
Worldwide Moment is an opportunity to celebrate a moment of peace with people all over the world. It is an opportunity to make your mark and be a part of an international art project. It is a chance to learn about how other people live. It is an opportunity to feel connected.

How often does Worldwide Moment occur?
Worldwide Moment has occurred annually since 2007.
